Tracing it's origin back to 560 AD, the Old Ferry Boat, is widely believed to be the oldest pub in England. Whilst you can rest assured that it has been refurbished numerous times since then, it remains a hotel that blends traditional and contemporary touches to evoke it's history whilst offering a modern atmosphere. Right on the banks of the River Great Ouse, this rustic retreat is a charming spot to use as a base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. The historic city of Cambridge is just down the road, as is the quaint cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds. You can also enjoy a host of other natural, cultural and historic sites, from Thetford Forest and the Cromwell Museum to Hinchingbrooke Country Park and Huntingdon Racecourse.
Accommodation
At the end of a long day, head to one of the seven cosy bedrooms. They all have bags of character plus everything you need for a restful stay. Each of the rooms have large and comfortable beds as well as bright and fresh bathrooms. There is also free Wi-Fi so that you can keep connected during your stay.
Dining
People have been eating and drinking at the Old Ferry Boat for close to one and a half thousand years. That tradition continues today and it’s one you can share. Sit back in the traditional pub with a pint of real ale, a premium lager or fine wine, or take yourself outside to enjoy the large beer garden. Tuck into the classic British pub fayre for great prices at the restaurant, whether you want a steak, breaded scampi or a full Sunday roast.
This is a pet-friendly hotel. There is limited availability for their rooms for pets, which are offered on a first come, first served basis.
