The Hotel was originally built by Victorian industrialist and philanthropist William Hesketh Lever in 1900, The Bridge Inn was originally a ‘temperance hotel’ with tea rooms and assembly rooms, but it did not serve alcohol. It retains many of its original interior features including the wood panelling and stunning stained glass roof dome.
Local to the hotel in the village you will find many Grade II including an art gallery, cottage hospital and schools.
